It’s been an entire year since our unforgettable appearance at the Vermont Film Festival. Leading a vibrant group of students through the filmmaking journey, from the first draft to festival screening, has been one of the most rewarding teaching experiences I've ever had.
Imagine a small team of high school boys collaborating to create an action-packed and meaningful film. Each student took on specific roles—screenwriter, costume designer, cameraman, editor, music and sound designer, and more. I couldn’t be prouder of these young men for finding their vision and sticking to it.
The result is an 11-minute historical war story depicting two enemy soldiers redefining what acts of valor truly look like. It premiered at Vermont State University in 2022 and was selected for two film festivals in 2023, winning Best Student Film at the ICOM Student Film Festival in Oklahoma. The film is now streaming on both Redeem TV and YouTube, where you can witness all the incredible work that went into its creation.
